Specific Skills
  • Team-player with strong sales, relationship building and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of group insurance financial management and technical arrangements of plan funding and design
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of underwriting processes and profit drivers
  • Knowledge of the group benefits industry
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and principles, active listening, pro active inquiry and anticipation of broader needs
  • Excellent presentation and clear communication skills both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in partnership with their client team including Service Representatives and other internal stakeholders to collaborate and deliver the best solutions for clients
  • Superior organizational skills for managing diverse client portfolio
  • Ongoing involvement in professional development and group industry events
Responsibilities
Job Description: The Account Executive is accountable for the profitable growth and retention of a portfolio of Group Benefit clients aligned with the advisor community. Focused on strong client and advisor relationship management and facilitating the delivery of best-in-class service to clients. The role is also responsible for successfully converting client needs and issues into opportunities and introduce solutions. The solutions brought forth help our partners achieve their business, employment and financial goals.   What will you do:
  • Meet annual financial, growth and profitability objectives of an assigned block of business
  • Relationship manager for advisors and clients with Sun Life
  • Manage the relationship with assigned advisors, including training and new business development
  • Ensure client and advisor needs are met through the delivery of value-added products and services
  • Provide resolution to issues presented by internal stake holders, clients and advisors with respect to the accountable block of business
Additional Requirements
  • 3+ years experience in Group Benefits, ideally in a business development role
  • Ability to manage a flexible work schedule
  • Group Benefits Associate (GBA) is considered an asset
