We are currently seeking an Application Specialist (EIT) individual for our Valves & Actuation team in Edmonton, AB. In this role, the successful candidate will work in partnership with Sales Teammates (e.g., Account Managers, Technical Specialists) to provide customized valve and actuation solutions to our customers. You will report to the Manager, Application Specialists.

Specific Skills
    Post-Secondary engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation, or similar discipline •    Previous valve application engineering experience is an asset •    SAP experience an asset •    Proficient with MS Office programs: Word, Power Point, Excel •    A desire to work with industrial customers to understand their needs, provide personalized service, develop, and propose solutions •    Customer service experience in any industry •    Previous experience and passion for sales is an asset •    Ability to develop and foster relationships with coworkers and customers; a customer-centric mindset & a strong team player •    High degree of dependability and reliability •    Excellent communication, prioritizing, and time management skills •    Strong technical skills, problem solving ability, resourcefulness, and inquisitive nature •    Detail oriented •    Entrepreneurial work ethic, do what it takes to get the job done

Responsibilities
•    Qualify and execute requests from our diverse customer base, including pulp & paper, mining, municipal, power, oil & gas, and chemical industries •    Collaborate with consulting engineers, OEMs, project managers, technicians, and plant supervisors to provide valve solutions that meet customer expectations for budget, technology, and performance •    Provide engineering and trouble-shooting assistance to support new and existing installations. •    Create technical quotations and proposals in response to small parts enquiries, direct replacements, and MRO type requests •    Size, select, and recommend specific valves and actuation best suited to safely handle various service conditions •    Engage in proactive and regular follow-up with customers
