We are currently seeking a Business Systems Analyst I to support our Corporate Shareholder System Applications. Acting as a subject matter expert for the line of business, in this role the successful candidate is responsible for supporting the business needs on system applications; requirement activities on small enhancements and projects; conduct business analysis with minimal guidance; articulating the business needs into system requirements and deliverables through planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation; provide day-to-day support on system applications. Our team takes considerable pride in accomplishing and implementing the business needs with a high degree of excellence.

Specific Skills
  • 3 years work experience in Mutual Fund or Financial industry
  • Familiarity with mutual fund transfer agency applications
  • Extensive experience in business systems analysis
  • Working experience of development tools and methodologies
  • Experience in IT or with the delivery of IT-related projects
  • Basic knowledge in relational databases and SQL
  • Working knowledge of Fundserv is an asset
  • In-depth understanding of various investment products
  • Strong analytical capabilities are required along with a strong focus on attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Strong organization skills capable of multitasking and the ability to deliver high quality work under pressure
  • Superior time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines
Responsibilities
  • Acts as a liaison between the business community and IT in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
  • Demonstrates informed knowledge of business processes and rules to provide proper and efficient solutions
  • Provide expertise on gap analysis and potential risks/issues on projects, enhancements and initiatives
  • Work collectively with business to articulate business requirements into system requirements for new enhancements or projects
  • Responsible and accountable for the business requirements/specifications to be complete, correct, consistent, concise, achievable
  • Co-ordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders
  • Investigative support and problem identification for day-to-day system and business issues
  • Ensure continued integrity of existing production systems
  • Provide expert guidance with hands-on help where required to solve complex and challenging business problems
  • Participate and lead in scrum teams on development of applications
  • Help ensure project and support task adheres to JIRA framework and documentation is maintained appropriately
