Specific Skills
  • University degree or community college diploma in one or more of the following disciplines; adult education, volunteer management, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience at a community-based program level, with demonstrated experience in relationship management and relationship development.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytic and problem-solving skills to develop strategies, identify gaps, and implement program solutions.
  • Adaptable and innovative approach to planning and operations.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask with considerable attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and sensitivity to interact effectively and build on-going relationships with small and large groups of volunteers, staff, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of computer software for the development of project plans, presentations, documents, records management, web sites, and multimedia content.
  • Knowledge of program planning and budgeting processes.
  • Working non-traditional hours is a requirement of the job, as is supporting in response during a disaster.
Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: Review and support learning solutions and paths
  • Responsible for overall coordination support across the L+D life cycle which includes support to design activities, planning and coordination of delivery and maintenance of learning materials.
  • Identifies, forecasts, and coordinates the number of classes, participants, facilitators and producers, facility location, timing, session counts, and general course planning as required by program or service line.
  • Assists with developing surveys, compiling results, and preparing appropriate reports for Learning solutions and paths.
  • Responsible for the implementation process and the roll out for all learning solutions and paths.
  • Perform basic LMS tasks like creating pages in the LMS and uploading learning path and solutions when needed.
Responsibility 2: Supporting Facilitators and L+D Volunteers 
  • Trains and assigns work to facilitators and support volunteers and establish teams within program/service lines to meet operational objectives.
  • Ensures certification standards are followed with development of teams.
  • Monitors the application of standards for facilitation.
  • Nominates volunteers for their accomplishments and contributions to L+D.
Responsibility 3: Administrative and AD HOC support
  • Mailbox management - Ensures prompt response to program client and learner inquiries.
  • Supporting procurement and invoice processes.
  • Support hiring managers with onboarding and orientation processes of new team members e.g. equipment requests, distributions lists, support tools/access to tools etc.
Additional Requirements
  • The majority of the work is performed in an environment which is mostly clean and comfortable. Mobile (remote, home or office) worker arrangements will consider the tools, resources and environment required to be effective and productive.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours is required, including working weekends and evenings occasionally.
  • Occasional travel, including overnight travel within the province or across Canada may be required.
  • In times of response, may be called upon to fill roles within the emergency response structure, and may require deployment away from home for periods of several weeks, a local or virtual assignment and/or business continuity activities.
