We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our Systems, Software, and Solutions team in Calgary.  Working on multiple project teams, the successful candidate will provide technical project support and leverage their electrical knowledge and experience in control systems, particularly Emerson DeltaV, and other DCS and PLC control cabinet design. We seek a driven, self-starter who enjoys challenges and is motivated to meet and exceed customer expectations.  This role will report to Manager, Operations (Systems, Software & Solutions).

Specific Skills
  •  Engineering degree (Electrical or related)
  • 3-5 years electrical design/installation experience, an asset
  • Professional engineer designation (or eligible), P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.), and ability to stamp drawings and documentation
  • Experience and knowledge of Emerson DeltaV and other DCS and PLC hardware systems, an asset
  • System integration knowledge – network architecture, switches, fiber optic and copper interfaces, an asset
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, standards and practices
  • Broad understanding of electrical, control, and instrumentation technology with common engineering tools and work processes
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to multi-task and work proactively in a fast-paced team environment, working to timelines
  • Exceptional communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities
  • High-level technical skills and willingness to learn
  • Proficient with MS-Office applications and able to learn corporate business systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Experience using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electric, an asset
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic with a strong customer service focus
  • Willingness to travel; valid driver license required

Responsibilities
  • An integral component of the project team, demonstrating strong team player abilities:
    • Collaborate closely with the CADD team to generate and review drawings for design and engineering accuracy, completeness, and compliance with specifications and standards
    • Coordinate with project management personnel to understand and ensure milestones and deliverables are met
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, service, and sales teams
  • A strong Customer First focus, working with and supporting customers to understand and manage expectations
  • Responsible for electrical design and engineering aspects of the project; project scope includes but is not limited to:
    • Control panels/cabinets/junction boxes
    • Control systems network architecture and protocols
    • 3rd party communication interfaces
    • Low voltage power distribution and control (600VAC and below)
    • Industrial electrical equipment buildings
    • Process skids
  • Electrical design for both classified areas and non-classified areas
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable customer engineering and safety standards, practices, procedures, plant documentation requirements, and methods of installation
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry codes and standards
  • Supporting projects through engineering design, integration, and commissioning and start-up activities
  • Interfacing with trade subcontractors and sub-suppliers
  • Creating and maintaining detailed project records
  • Contributing and supporting the development and evolution of design standards
  • Understanding project and processes
