Field Recruiter

Overview

GFL Environmental is experiencing rapid growth and is in search of a Field Recruiter to join our team in Ontario. The Field Recruiter is tasked with cultivating critical relationships with our operations and business partners to identify top-tier talent within the local market. This role encompasses the entire recruitment lifecycle, including the review, screening, and recommendation of suitable candidates for specific business lines. Acting as a strategic partner to the business units you support, you will spearhead key initiatives within your designated regions.

Responsibilities
  • Full Cycle Recruiting: Manage high-volume recruiting processes by partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs within an assigned territory.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local Human Resources, operational hiring leaders, and collaborate with local educational institutions.
  • Job Fair Organization: Organize and execute job fairs to meet recruitment objectives, utilizing both traditional and non-traditional resources.
  • Candidate Assessment: Review and qualify applicant resumes, conduct preliminary phone interviews, and coordinate further interviews and assessments between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Offer Management: Deliver offer letters for all positions, acting as a GFL ambassador by effectively selling the perks and benefits of working at GFL, and explaining important details such as benefits, compensation, and non-compete clauses.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Create and develop sourcing strategies, headhunt, and use outside-the-box ideas to attract quality talent. Leverage career fairs, online job fairs, and community networking events, and manage college and university partnership programs.
  • Compliance and System Management: Ensure compliance with employment laws, manage candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Workday, and maintain application/resume file retention according to company policy.
 
Additional Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in full cycle recruiting, with strong transferable experience across operational industries preferred
  • Travel to all sites in your region weekly/quarterly or as business needs require
  • Workday experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required
