Specific Skills
Typically, we find that those who are successful in this role bring the following qualifications; however, we are committed to reducing barriers and encourage you to apply if you do not meet every qualification listed below:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' direct experience in talent acquisition, with 2 years as a people leader in a similar role.
  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in human resources, or related field.
  • A CPHR or RPR designation is an asset.
  • Direct experience recruiting within a unionized environment.
  • Direct experience developing and implementing recruitment strategies and processes using innovative and progressive techniques.
  • Experience translating equity, diversity, and inclusion principles into recruitment practices.
Responsibilities
This brand-new role leads the Talent Acquisition strategy and a team of 2 Talent Acquisition Specialists. It oversees sourcing, pipeline development, and the design of talent acquisition practices and guidelines. In addition, this role cultivates external partnerships, strengthens CLBC's branding and value proposition, leverages data analytics to inform recruitment decisions, and integrates a diversity, equity, and inclusion perspective into the hiring process. Specific duties include:
  • Oversees end-to-end, full-cycle recruitment and selection, streamlining and optimizing to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Employs sourcing methods to attract passive candidates who may not be actively seeking opportunities, utilizing targeted outreach, personalized messaging, and compelling value propositions to captivate their interest.
  • Applies networking and talent mapping techniques to consistently cultivate and maintain a pipeline of skilled candidates, ensuring a steady inflow of talent to meet present and future needs.
  • Leads training and consultation to leaders on the recruitment and selection process.
  • Implements strategies to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion principles across all stages of the recruitment process, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
  • Partners and develops external relationships with community organizations, professional networks, and associations to proactively source talent.
  • Prepares and analyzes recruitment reports and metrics to monitor progress and make data-driven decisions; identifies areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Establishes a process for practicum, co-op, and internship placement, including speaking engagements with relevant classrooms and sourcing of new partnerships.
  • Continuously assesses CLBC's value proposition and makes recommendations to enhance external and online presence.

Salary
$99,099 to $115,000 annually As part of your compensation, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
