Senior IT Technical Business Analyst

Overview

Project Scope: We are seeking two Senior IT Business Analysts to assist our clients in the public sector with the modernization of legacy systems related to health care administration. The successful candidates will be part of a team effort to document, modernize, and develop new applications in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Period of Contract: 21st May 2024 to 20th December 2024 (Opportunity to extend for another 12 month)

Work Location: Remote (Must be available for onsite meetings as required in Alberta, Canada)

Work Hours: 08:15 to 16:30, Alberta Time, Monday to Friday (Excluding provincial holidays)

Specific Skills

Proven experience in Health Care, particularly in project delivery.
Experience with Health Care Insurance projects is preferred.
Expertise in maintaining and modernizing legacy mainframe applications.
Ability to provide detailed technical recommendations for application modernization.
Strong knowledge of the specified technical skillsets, as demonstrated during the interview process.

Responsibilities

Analyze and document the current state of legacy mainframe applications.
Plan and execute strategies for the modernization of applications using technologies such as NATURAL/ADABASE, JCL, COBOL, and DB2.
Provide technical recommendations and strategic advice to management and project teams within a multi-vendor, shared IT services environment.
Translate complex technical details into clear, concise explanations for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring effective communication across project teams.
Perform thorough business requirement analysis and develop solutions architecture focused on enhancing data management processes, including data acquisition, preparation, quality, and lineage.
Collaborate closely with healthcare industry stakeholders, particularly within projects related to Health Services, to align IT initiatives with organizational health care goals.

Additional Requirements

Equipment Requirements:

Pay rate includes all overhead, such as office space, equipment, supplies, administrative costs, and other associated expenses.

Additional Notes:

The role is predominantly remote but requires availability for strategic, architectural, and technical onsite meetings as needed.
Travel expenses for onsite meetings or any related relocation costs are not covered.
