Senior Manager, Total Rewards

Overview

Do you love building relationships and overseeing Total Rewards?   Reporting to the Senior Director, Total Rewards, you will oversee the compensation, benefits, and pension programs at the LCBO, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compensation philosophy, competitiveness within the industry and community, internal equity and compliance with collective agreements and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to develop, implement and administer the compensation, benefit, and pension programs for both unionized and non-unionized employees.
  • Ensure the ongoing viability, integrity, and competitiveness of the Total Rewards Program.
  • Provide positive leadership to staff maintaining the positive work environment that is inclusive, respectful, and motivating for staff.
  • Maintain working relationships with a variety of team members including senior management, HR partners, staff, and external service providers, insurance carriers and other third-party providers.
  • Manage our pay equity programs, including accurate documentation of all related data, its analysis and formal reporting.
  • Oversee related administration practices for non-union employees and for the unionized staff through ensuring the effective implementation and administration of collective agreement and other related awards.
  • Continuously improve Total Reward processes ensuring they are both effective and efficient
  • Lead the overall functioning of the job evaluation program and job analysis process.
  • Manage year-end compensation, benefit, and pension activities.
  • Deliver market intelligence and insights by managing participation in salary surveys to ensure a great compensation package is following business strategy and compensation philosophy.
Additional Requirements
  • Designation or progress towards Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification, Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) is an asset.
  • Management experience in a large, unionized and diversified public or private sector organization.
  • Hands-on experience in compensation and benefits administration including job evaluation, benefits, and pension.
  • Ability to interpret legislation, regulations, collective agreements, case law and procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code; Employment Standards Act; Pay Equity Act and other related legislation.
  • Ability to write clear, understandable policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality always.

Educational Requirements

  • Background in Total Rewards acquired through a Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources Management or related field and relevant progressive experience.
