Role Overview:
The Senior Project Director will work closely with executive management to develop, execute, and manage an integrated plan for procuring and implementing Alberta Health-managed technology solutions. This role is essential in modernizing the technical environment, aligning with the broader eHealth Strategy roadmap for the Province, and supporting contracting and financial models for eHealth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with executive management to develop and execute an integrated plan for modernizing Alberta Health technology solutions.
•Ensure project plans align with the broader eHealth Strategy roadmap and support contracting and financial models for eHealth.
•Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships across all key stakeholder groups.
•Facilitate internal planning and stakeholder consultation to align activities with eHealth Strategy objectives.
•Lead project committees and support project governance bodies throughout the project lifecycle.
•Develop, negotiate, and manage IT vendor contracts, including request for proposal processes.
•Oversee all activities and deliverables by project resources and vendors, ensuring they align with the integrated plan.
•Document and report project status against established objectives, milestones, budgets, and resources.
•Identify and manage project variances through the project governance structure.
•Apply knowledge of healthcare systems and stakeholders in Alberta to identify potential impacts and issues, engaging key stakeholders to develop mitigation or remediation plans.
•Ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements, including Privacy Impact Assessments, Security Threat Risk Assessments, and provincial auditing standards.
•Manage interdependencies between new projects and existing services.
•Develop reports, summaries, presentations, communication materials, and other work products.
•Create and manage a communications plan and risk management plan for the project portfolio.
•Manage internal and external risks, developing appropriate contingencies and adapting to situations as they arise.
•Facilitate the resolution of issues that cannot be resolved by project teams.
